landfillSince the start of 2011 bfs has diverted over 16,000kg of their rubber waste away from landfill sites.

100% of the rubber waste produced from the converting of printing blankets at their head office in Reading, Berkshire is transported to a recycling facility where it is inspected before being loaded into bespoke shredding machines. These machines then process the rubber into different grades from 100mm to crumb size before being converted into recycled materials for the agricultural industry.

BFS will continue to ensure all waste material is recycled wherever possible and responsible waste disposal will be an ongoing issue for the company.

Robin Hope, Managing Director of BFS said this week “We are currently finalising details for all the rubber roller waste created from our roller production facility in Haverhill to be recycled just like the printing blankets. It isn’t always straightforward trying to be green when you are in the manufacturing industry but we are certainly doing our best.”
