Last month BFS marked a milestone as it celebrated 10 years of rubber roller manufacturing with a further investment in engineering machinery and new staff in order to expand its production and to improve turnaround times of new and refurbished rubber rollers.
BFS moved into manufacturing rubber rollers in August 2007 employing just 5 staff but continued investment paid off as over the next few years several international roller producers stopped making rollers in the UK, moving their production abroad and creating opportunities for BFS with customers wanting to work with a specialist graphic roller supplier still manufacturing in the UK.
Today, BFS is the UK’s leading manufacturer of rubber rollers for the printing industry, with ongoing investment seeing staffing levels at its Haverhill manufacturing facility now increased to 22. “Bringing engineering in-house means that we can further improve our service level and overall speed of production as well as assisting those customers who do not have spare rollers” says Robin Hope, Managing Director, of the recent expansion.
